Planning to Go Home

We're planning on going home tomorrow (Sunday). Still no power or water but things are looking more hopeful and we might have those necessities by Monday. I have very mixed emotions about going back to Beaumont and seeing all the destruction in my beautiful city but I just want to get that initial shock over with and start cleaning up my little sister's house.

The highlight of our day yesterday was watching the guy dump the dumpster here at my son's condo and today we're going to WalMart.

It's strange to think that I used to complain about things like my cable going out or the vending machine at work not working and, today, I'm praying for water and electricity.

Hope your trip goes well, and that all is not lost. My sister lives about 20 miles from New Orleans and was just able to go home last week.

God Bless you and yours!

Good luck, Laurie.
Puts things in perspective, I know.

Even for me, and I am on the outside, and don't know the half of it.

Our Silsbee friends are OK, but a tree crashed down on the house :(

Dovely - I hope your sister didn't have much damage.

Sleepybomb - Thanks!

Aisha - I'm glad your Silsbee friends are okay. All the beautiful trees down here have really wreaked some havoc.

Old Horsetail - Mmmmm...popsicles!

Lorna - Will do!

Popeye - You are exactly right. Since Katrina, I've been saying this whole thing has been like a disaster movie.
