Could You Repeat that, Secretary Rumsfeld?

From my desk calendar at work:

There are known knowns. There are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know that we don't know.

Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, trying to clarify the war on terrorism, during a Pentagon briefing.

No linky-link darling. I'll look up the story though.

Is it possible that Rumsfeld is more confusing to listen to than Bush?? lol

Looks like he's trying to cast a little magic spell while he's at it.

Wow, they make a good pair, George dubya and Secretary Rumone.

When it comes to giving speeches, this is the worst administration that I have ever seen. Even the H.W. Bush was a lot better but nothing compared to Reagan and Clinton. Although I have to admit Clinton lost a little speech respect from me with the whole "meaning of is is" thing. I have often thought you would have an almost leathal speech giving machine if you combined Clinton and Reagan. You litterally would have someone who could sell refrigerators to the eskimos.

Since Mr. Rumsfeld likes to think on his feet (its been reported he rarely sits) the blood has all drained out.

President Dubya, Sept. 26:

"And while there's a shortage because of down refining capacity, we will work with -- we have instructed EPA to leave the rules in place, or to suspend the rules that are in place, keep the suspension in place, which would make it easier to increase supply..." (But not easier to know what he said.)

why are you guys poking fun? at work, i talk in just that way every single day....and yet every morning, they look at me and greet me as if they expected me back all the while...Mr. Rumsfeld and I DO know a thing or two. What we know MAY be unknown, but people are still paying us - why make a fuss? I don't know...or maybe I do know ?? I know that I USED to know.......

Lorna - You're so welcome.

Tanda - It's a close tie.

Larry - It's to distract us from what he's actually saying.

Peter - The Dynamic Duo.

Ed - Clinton was one cool president dude.

Jill - That explains a lot...maybe too much.

Stephen - Probably all of the above.

Old Horsetail - Thanks for sharing with the class. That's just crazy.

Mrs. F - I don't remember you talking like that but you and I were mostly drunk when we did all our talking. You always made perfect sense to me. :)

In 1991 I said Clinton would win the election. He did. In 1998 someone else said to me angrily that he was my president..........NOT.

Cool blog I like the legal notepad look.
