One of my jobs at the law firm where I work is to review every fax that comes into the office and assure the prompt delivery and handling of urgent matters. While several of the faxes during the day are of the urgent variety, the majority are routine. The firm receives hundreds of faxes a day.
Yesterday, I received a fax with the line typed in bold across the top of the letter, *Please disregard the previous letter.* With faxes constantly pouring in, I'm supposed to know exactly which letter this dip-wad is talking about. There was no explanation of which letter the writer was referring to, not a date, not subject matter, nothing.
That would be like me telling you guys, *Please disregard the previously written post. I was drunk.*

I have a feeling that disclaimer could apply to most of us.
Once I got a letter saying, "You recently received a letter saying to disregard the previous contract amendments. Please disregard that letter."
Well, this seems pretty simple to me. Disregard EVERY letter you received until you got that fax. That way, you can't miss. (Some other people might be pissed, but, what the hell?)
Donna - It's a good thing there aren't laws against blogging while intoxicated. I have a feeling it would be pretty sparse out here in the blog world.

Old Horsetail - Actually, the joke was on that guy because I pretty much disregard all of that crap. :)
The sender probably thinks that you are employed only to read his letters or that he is so important that you'll remember him. On the other hand, I have often wished that I could dive into the email bag and pull back a note that I just sent. I'm doing a lot more "Save as Draft" notes now (although the occasional nastygram still gets away).
Comfort Addict - I have less trouble with nasty grams than with sending e-mails to the wrong people completely. Talk about a nightmare! I should change my settings on Outlook so it won't give me suggestions for outgoing addresses but it's so handy...and SO dangerous.
