Twelve Guilty Pleasures (x 4)

I started creating a list of my guilty pleasures because I was going to do a Twelve Guilty Pleasures of Laurie post in the vein of The Twelve Days of Christmas. However, I soon discovered that I couldn’t narrow my guilty pleasures down to just twelve. I had so many, in fact, that I had to break them down into separate categories.

The things listed below aren’t necessarily my favorite things, which I proudly and unapologetically love, although, in some cases, they are. These are things that I like but feel guilty about enjoying so much. In some cases, I might feel guilty because they’re silly or goofy or crude but, in spite of myself, I love them anyway. In other cases, it’s the sappiness or the calorie count that inspires the pangs of guilt.

So, here you have it, the first version of my guilty pleasures lists. I’m sure there’ll be more to come.

OH MY....your music list is the same as my favorites from Junior High.

Our movies are pretty much alike right now....but when I got to the TV stuff....I don't know that person!

What a geek!

LOLOLOLOLLLLLLLL!

Zina - Hey, cousin. Don't act so surprised. You know I'm the queen geek in the family.

Gosh, Laurie - You really should feel guilty about these. (But I'd be glad to join you in a couple of quarts of Pralines and Cream.)

Larry - You'd like to join me in a quart of Pralines and Cream? That's another one for the list.

I've got several musical guilty pleasures -
ACDC
Cheap Trick
Talking Heads
the list goes on...
Movie wise..
16 Candles

Al - Cheap Trick and Talking Heads are nothing to feel guilty about. As for 16 Candles, all of those 80's/Richard Hughes/teen angst movies are wonderful and guilt-worthy.

Al - Make that John Hughes. Richard Hughes is a guy I went to school with. As far as I know, he hasn't directed anything.

No no no! "Raising Arizona" is pure genius! You don't have to feel guilty about that one. Keith Partridge? Not guilt--shame, Laurie, shame on you.

My biggest guilty pleasure is the TV show "Highway to Heaven." When that sad trumpet plays near the climax of every episode, I admit, I often cry. I know it's stupid, I know it's contrived, and I know I better keep the kleenex close.

Tim - I actually debated putting Raising Arizona on there but so many people just don't get it that I thought I'd leave it on.

Regarding Keith Partridge, maybe I'll start a *shame* list. I already have a supplemental *guilty* list going.

As for Highway to Heaven, my big tearjerker evening is on Sunday night with that damn Extreme Home Makeover show.
