Invasion of the Sanity Snatchers

Every time I go to sleep, bad things happen...in the Gulf of Mexico. I go to sleep and wake up several hours later and everything has changed. I hate hurricanes. I don't want to go to sleep.

I keep looking at the Weather Channel.com and the projected path seems to be worsening for the east Texas coast. I sincerely hope Ike gets lazy and dissolves in the next day or so. But it looks pretty unlikely, huh?

Things do look kind of bad from here but bad things happen whether you sleep or not.

It is better to sleep so you have the reserves to deal with the bad things.

I am not really sleeping right now, and that makes bad things happen even without help from mother nature, not to mention the attractive dark baggy circles under your eyes and you wouldn't want that ;-)

Are you going to evacuate?

My thoughts are with you, Laurie. Also,in solidarity with you I am staying up an extra hour every night and worrying. Hope this helps.

Just - At least it hasn't strengthened much which is good. It's not looking good for Galveston. Your family is in my thoughts.

Susan - Luckily, I have no problem with sleep. It's the waking up that I find difficult. Not going to evacuate. Should be interesting.

Larry - That's what friends are for. :)

So what's the problem this year? Run out of Seaport, and the hurricanes just start rumbling through? We better find you a Starbucks or somethin'.

Stay safe

Peg - Good luck my friend.

George - Will do. Your family in Port Arthur are in my thoughts.

Ms. E - I hope everyone is safe with their evacuations.
