Sugar Biscuit

I stopped at Great China on my way home because I was hungry for spring rolls and hot and sour soup. While I waited for my order, I noticed a hand-written sign that said:
Sugar Biscuits 10 for $2.50
Maybe it's because I'm from The South, but, I wouldn't mind being called "Sugar Biscuit."
"Hey, Sugar Biscuit, while you're up, bring me a beer."
Now, that's just sweet.

"How 'bout I bring you a warm muffin, instead?"

"Hmmmmm..."

"Well?"

"I'm thinking."

Sugar Biscuit. I like that. Will be adding that to my other food endearments. Thanks Sweetie Pie!

Inca - If he has to think about it, that's one thirsty man.

Roxan - You're welcome, Sugar Biscuit.

Sounds like a word I would say when I am trying to stop cussing.

"Son of a Sugar Biscuit"
"Awwww, Sugar Biscuit"
"You are such a Sugar Biscuit"

Grimm - That reminds me. When we were little and my mom didn't want to cuss in front of us, she would say, "Son of a biscuit eater." I forgot all about that.

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I like to EAT those things! Yum! They are almost as good as beignets when they're fresh. Which reminds me, one of these days I have to get to that beignet shop downtown early enough to see if they're any good.

Laura - We ate some at Orleans Cafe a couple of weeks ago and they were delicious!!!

Laurie, thanks for the thumbs up. So far every time I've been there (maybe three times) they've been out of beignets, but they do have really good red beans, closest I've had to what I used to eat in NO every Monday. Have you ever tried making beignets from the CDM box mix? It takes three days to clean up the kitchen, but it's worth it.

Laura - I've never tried to make them myself. I bet they're great. I love beignets. When we ate them there, it was a Saturday afternoon.

Everything I've eaten at Taste of Orleans (I incorrectly called it Orleans Cafe...a terrific place in the French Quarter), has been delicious. Supposedly the owner/cook is from New Orleans.

Astrid - Make your friends call you "sugar biscuit." It's fun. :)
