Life of Brian

I finally watched Life of Brian. After saying I had never seen it before, I was sure I would recognize it once I started watching it. However, that wasn't the case. How I've missed seeing this over the last thirty years is just one of life's little mysteries.

Favorite part: the Roman guards trying not to laugh at Pontius Pilate's Biggus Dickus tirade.

Surprising part: finding out that Graham Chapman did not have a biggus dickus.

Best movie song ever: "Always Look On the Bright Side of Life"

(Second best movie song ever: "Galaxy Song" from Monty Python's The Meaning of Life.)

Ah yes, "Life's a piece of shit when you look at it..." I wonder if they have that one on SingShot.

I know the songs, but to be honest, I don't think I've ever seen the movie.

Well, I have been busy trying to record a song on Singshot, like you told me to, and got nowhere. I need good instructions.

Pokerboss - Nope. I already looked. :)

Leslie - It was good. Not as good as Holy Grail, but it was good.

Old Horsetail - You must let me know when you figure it out.

I can't hear that song without thinking about them at U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. I saw it on PbS. They were all there including the urn supposedly containing Graham Chapman's ashes. They are treating the ashes like they are Chapman. At the very end, someone brings out a guitar, they start singing "Always Look On the Bright Side of Life" and having tea. I was holding it together pretty well until they offered Chapman tea, and poured some into the urn!!! then one of them spilles the ashes... I was laughing so hard at that point, my eyes were tearing.

Susan - I tried to find a clip of that on YouTube but couldn't find one. You can, however, buy a DVD of the show on Amazon.

I may have it somewhere, do you have a VCR?

Susan - I do have a VCR but that's okay because I'm buying the whole Monty Python collection including the live stuff from Amazon. Thanks though.

I really need to check this movie out. I feel so out of the loop.

Making of note to see the movie before the month is out.

And make Leslie watch it too.

Jersey - "Bring out your dead..." is from Monty Python. It's great.

Grimm - It took me 30 years to catch it, so, don't feel bad.
