I’m having some sort of weird obsessive compulsive day today. I keep straightening papers, even in other people’s offices. I keep placing and removing page flags because they aren’t positioned exactly perfectly. I’m beginning to get concerned because I just lined up my medium sized binder clips in neat little rows and I’m fighting the urge to do the same with my small and mini binder clips.
I hope I get over this before (a) a co-worker slaps the crap out of me for touching her documents or (b) I go home. If I’m in this mood when I get home, it could be a long night of sock drawers, underwear drawers and desk drawers.
Oh, my God! I didn’t paint my toenails!!

A kindred soul! Release yourself and embrace the order!
Got here through BE and the post caught my eye enough to take the time to comment. That’s what a good post should do.
Keep writing!
Welcome to my life, dear Laurie! I'm so OCD that I'm OCD about being OCD. Can't. Stop. Organizinnnnng! ;o)
I prefer to refer to it as "puttering"—sounds so much more like you just like to keep busy.
I painted my toenails last night, and even put doo-dads on my toes. A little toe-bling. Just in time for winter, when I'll cover them with socks.
D. B. - Thanks, dude! That's my kind of comment. By the way, the OCD seems to have passed. Screw the drawers. I'm going lay on the couch.
Kaci - OCD about being OCD?! Hahahaha! Sorry, but, that was...funny. :)
Gnight Girl - Yeah, puttering. I like that, too. I gots to get me some toe-bling.
I wanted to leave you a comment, but I couldn't get it lined up the way I wanted---no widows and orphans, so I'll have to do it another time.
Hope you aren't watching Monk on TV Laurie.
A fellow OCD "freak". (Because non-OCD people always refer to us as "freaks", do they not?)
My cat is even OCD. She must - MUST - line up her Friskies treats in a straight line before eating them. It's not the same straight line as a human would make, as her paws can't get it 100% correct, but I've watched her... she's not playing with her food, she's assembling a firing line.
Then she eats from one end of the line to the other, and I think "What planets aligned to assure that the most OCD person adopts herself an equally OCD kitty?"
Lorna - I totally understand. :)
Peter - Monk is a hoot but I have never been able to watch a whole show. His OCD makes me more aware of mine and I get totally freaked out after about 10 minutes. Good show though...what I've seen of it.
Lindssey - Oh, my! I think most cats are OCD by nature but that kitty gets the prize.
Why do you peoople keep calling it "OCD"? It's not a "D;" it's a Lifestyle Choice. Please use the correct term: OCLC.
Jack - I never thought about it that way...OCLC and "puttering." Yes!
Great news on your dad!
hey, I didn't paint my toenails either, not that I would... ;)

Seven - Have you ever seen Bull Durham? The best toe-nail painting scene EVER.
Hey - this is really a great looking site. I got here through blogexplosion and was pleasantly surprised with the layout and content. Thanks!
Rob - Welcome to the party!
