Styx Kicked Ass!

I apologize (mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa) to Cactus Canyon for saying their sound system sucks. Styx kicked ass. Escape (Journey tribute band) kicked ass and I can't hear a got-damn thing. My ears are ringing like a sonufabitch and, yes, there was a guy standing right in front of me with bright orange ear plugs. I will not denigrate him tonight, however, because, I repeat, I can't hear a got-damn thing. Work tomorrow should be quite interesting.

I have to get up in exactly 6 hours to go to said work and I'm more than a little bit drunk. Good night, sleep tight and I just wanted everyone who cares to know that I made the right decision going to see Styx instead of Leon Russell. It was great.

No offense Leon, you were also great last year but a choice had to be made.

I rock.

By the way, if I typed this with no errors I f**cking rock.

I've been following this since you brought it up, hoping they would be awful and you would thus be punished for your bad decision. I've never seen the appeal myself, but I'm glad you had a good time. People at Leon's show are probably still wondering if it was really him, behind the big beard and opaque sunglasses. Maybe by now he's hiding behind a curtain offstage, too.

Yes, Laurie, you do rock. You f**king rock. :)

As far as the sound goes, the system is not Cactus Canyons but on contract. The KOLE engineering staff (Zach) supplied the equipment and operations for Sound at this concert and I will notify him that you can't hear. I'm sure he will smile about it.

Can't hear? Too bad, Leon called a little while ago, pissed.

You rock, all right, if you're not particular how you spell "God".

Glad you had a good time, Tex.

Lonesome George-- Tell Zach at KOLE that he and whoever ran the sound board did a great job. Better than great, really. That was easily the best concert sound I've heard in years. Styx and Escape couldn't have kicked half as much ass without them.

Larry - Shame on you for hoping they would be bad and I would be punished. Fortunately for me, I rarely have a bad time even on the worst of nights. I'm one of those lucky people who (almost) always gets happy on alcohol. Regarding, Leon, even with the long hair and sunglasses, there is no doubting that it's him. Damn, now you have me wishing I had seen Leon instead. Mean!

Jen - Occasionally, I do f**king rock, if I may say so myself. And I just did.

Vettacini - Gotta love Cartman (and your office mate).

George - They did an amazing job! Tell Zach HE rocks.

Old Horsetail - My blog is offensive enough without throwing God into it so I use the generic "got" instead. (Silly, I know, but I'm still trying to wiggle myself into Heaven.) Tell Leon I still love him. Oh, and tell George Clooney I said, "Hey."

John (my best band-watching buddy) - I couldn't have said it better myself. It was a fantastic show.

Ok...since I'm a smartass cousin, I know everyone else is commenting on the concert and the sound system....but the line that struck me as funny was "a little drunk (sorry mom)" If she's read even one post about New Orleans I think the jig is up....She knows you drink!

Crazy - It WAS great and I'm finally getting my hearing back.

Zina - Yes, Cuz, the jig was up long ago. She just doesn't like me to advertise to the world that she raised three party girls and one party boy. We have definitely made her life quite interesting, though.

Poker Boss - At least give me your initials! I obviously know you and if you saw me at Styx and didn't come up and talk to me, shame on you! Whoever you are, check out my post (and Wang Chi's post) about Rock Fest 77 this summer. That should be great.
