Happy Anniversary!

Today is my son Cory and his wife Jamie's first wedding anniversary. Happy Anniversary! I love you guys.

Appropriately enough, the doves returned to my courtyard today. I bought this townhouse in September of 2002. In the spring of 2003, I had one gray dove move into my patio under my philodendron. He stayed a few weeks and then left. The next year, I had two doves. This year I have four. The first year, I was sad when he left but now that I know they'll return, I won't be sad this year. I am a bit concerned, however, about what will happen to my courtyard dove-wise by the Spring of 2010.

The temperature for the last two days has been in the upper 90's and we've only had about nine inches of rain so far this year. The doves crap on one particular chair and nowhere else. Not under the chair, on the chair. I think the original 2003 dove must have told his friends, "Coo coo coo. Coo coo." Translation: "Hey, I know a place that's cool and shady and has a great crapper. Follow me!"

Where was that in the news recently that was talking about opening a dove hunting season? Surely it wasn't Texas, specifically Beaumont. If so, you may be able to take care of the problem if you can get a clean shot off so you don't hurt the chair. Then again, you might want to just put the chair out of its misery.

I think you need mourning doves. They crap in cemeteries, mostly.

(Great looking couple. Many happy returns all around.)

Abby - Aren't they lovely?

Ed - Oh, no! I love my doves. It's as close as I'm going to get to having a pet.

Old Horsetail - I will tell them you wish them well.

Julee - Very proud. They're great kids.

Don't they look nice? And that ties in so well with your dove story...well until you got to the coo coocoo coo coo part. I'd get a cat who loves patio chairs.

We've had cold weather---still wearing a jacket and scarf with my sparkly sandals. A good look with goosebumps....

Lorna - You know I love summer but this is too much too soon.

Lorna #2 - Thanks on liking the picture. I felt like a change.

Laurie, this is Mom, put a pan with water for the doves, and they will coo more for you. And be glad your car is in a garage or it would be your car to catch the crap. Love you.

Hi it's Mom again, did you notice the time. Can't sleep, keep thinking about all of the crap to pack for our trip. Bye

Mom - I put some water in the bird bath. I don't know if they're drinking it or not. As soon as I move the curtains even a little, they fly away. They are very rude guests.

Get some sleep!
