I'm not a big fan of drinking games because, as a professional drinker, I know what happens if I don't drink at my own pace and I've never needed help with that.
However, from a reliable source, comes this drinking game which has evidently been around a while but which I had never heard of. The reliable source tells me that this drinking game should be played at the very beginning of the evening because it's a good ice breaker and it gets everyone loosened up for the rest of the festivities.
Everyone chooses whether or not they will drink each time Sting says either Roxanne or "red light" while the song Roxanne plays. Listen to the song right now. I bet you'll be surprised how many times Sting says "red light."

Hi Laurie, I bow reverently to anyone who dares to introduce themselves as a professional drinker, you have my vote for whatever the hell it is you're pushin'.
Laurie, I am currently in alcohol training for our annual bowling tournament in March.
Thanks for the excellent tip!
Peter - One shot of Pama and one shot of vodka with a splash of 7-Up or Sprite.
Grimm - March? You might have just about enough time to perfect your technique.
You want to know what is absolutely mental? Using "I Wanna Be Sedated" as a drinking song.
Everyone has to down a shot whenever the syllable "da" is said. I'm usually wasted by the first chorus. :D
Rev - A drinking game to "I Wanna Be Sedated?" Why didn't I think of that?
Laurie, I have to recuse myself from this game---I never, never, never, never, never, never willingly listen to Sting.
I would watch him demonstrating tantric sex, though.
Lorna - I love Sting singing and otherwise. There's a girl at my office who feels exactly the same way as you do about him though.
I like Sting. Is this something we're not supposed to admit to doing?
Isn't there a similar game called "Hi, Bob" that you'd watch/do shots while Newhart was on?
I also like the game "Hunker Down" - to be played while watching hurricane coverage.
Jen - All good games. :)
As a huge fan of Sting, and drinking, I think this is a fantastic game. It's sure to work, too, 'cuz you're right, he says "red light" a LOT. If you ever host a game, be sure and give me a ring. I can provide the album as well -it also has a version of "Roxanne" that Sting did with P. Diddy...or Diddy...or, oh, whatever-the-hell his name is -- regardless, it's a pretty cool version.
Mrs. F. - That sounds like a good plan!
