Laurie: Who knew I was from the Midland. Here I was thinking I was from the South all these 46 years. Guess this comes from a deaf, Austrian father who sounded like Arnold Swartzaneger (sp) and a tiny Southern Lady with a drawl from Hell. I'm just happy I can read, write, speak, and understand English. :) PS. Davi says "hi"
I was a Midland accent person, too. These dang quizzes must be written by city folk or Yankees.

When I was living in Las Vegas, sitting at the poker table, another player looked me in the eye and said, "What part of Texas are you from?" I guess that kinda settles the accent issue for me.

If you're not from Philadelphia, then you're from someplace near there like south Jersey, Baltimore, or Wilmington. if you've ever journeyed to some far off place where people don't know that Philly has an accent, someone may have thought you talked a little weird even though they didn't have a clue what accent it was they heard

I like the quizzes, too. But I sometimes think I have a quiz problem.
I was labeled The Midland North.
You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."
OK -- I am from Chicago and I do call it "pop".
La Sirena - Nobody in Texas calls it pop unless they're been transplanted here.
