Word of the Year the Year You Were Born

"Blog" is the word of the year for 2004 according to Merriam-Webster. At the bottom of the link below, you can find words that became popular the year you were born according to "Larpers and Shroomers: The Language Report." Appropriately enough, my word is "boogie".

(I first saw this on Astrid's blog so I have to give her credit. Hi, Astrid.)

word of the year for me: buzz
there was a lot of buzz the year I was born; during the next 18 months, I learned to identify for my family the buzz bombs that were falling around us in London early enough that they could take shelter, and take me with them. My first french-kissing boyfriend had a buzz cut, which I hated,(didn't learn to like the french-kissing until later either) and then there were the various buzzes you could get as you inhaled and altered your state; I actually got quite a buzz thinking about how to write this post, so definitely, buzz is my word...Lorna
