We are all thankful for number 1. At least we can somewhat predict when those will happen to us, though, unlike those silly Californians and their earthquakes.
And I assume you mean funk *music* on number 3, although I'd hate to jump to any conclusions. :)

Numbers 2 & 9 get the vote Laurie.
WV, whnnodoq.
...and the Salvation Army. Who got here first and stayed way long to feed us some days when a hot meal was otherwise not to be had. I'm putting more folding money in the pots this year.
Jen - One should never assume.
Peter - They can make the difference in a good day and a bad day.
LG - We had no idea how much good those folks do, did we?
Ten Things I'm Thankful For
1. It's 6 months until hurricane season. Thank God I don't live on the coast.
2. I remembered to put the top down on the toilet before grabbing anything on the counter while I'm half asleep getting ready for work.
3. Funk (enough said)
4. Fresh seafood (especially shrimp, crabs, crawfish, only if I happen to drive three hours to Savannah.
5. Vodka on the rocks
6. Toilet paper (who isn't thankful for this daily necessity)
7. Running water and electricity, which those of us in Atlanta seem to take for granted.
8. Pecans (what southern boy doesn't likes these?)
9. Deodorant (for me but mostly for other people). Yeah, but MOSTLY for other people. How can one come in to work and by 8:30 smell musty?
10. Caffeine (lots and lots of caffeine). Thank God for Mountain Dew and coffee.
Good list Laurie. I just expounded a little!! Hope you have a wonderful holiday!
With a son on the Atlantic coast and another in (or formerly in and about to be in again) New Orleans, I'm thankful for #1 as well. *sigh*
I hate it when stuff falls in the toilet. Glad you dodged that one.
Happy Thanksgiving, Laurie. Hope yours is a great one.
"zflhvtjw" ;)
And another thing.... Stephen, it takes me more than 3 hours to get to Savannah! You must drive very fast! ;)
Hope your turkey isn't dry. :0)
Happy Thanksgiving!
Sophmom - I DO drive really fast. and I forgot #11. I am very thankful for my radar detector!!
Stephen - Perfect! Happy Holidays to you, too.
Soph Mom - Happy Thanksgiving!
Tanda - Happy Thanksgiving, to you, too!
Well, damn -- I thought I knew my mixed drinks. What's a Sugar Baby Martini?
Have a happy, funkalicious holiday!
i concur w/ all on the list but pecans ... i never could get into those nasty lil bastards as i am extremely allergic to nuts (both human and tree wise) but otherwise a very timely and ontime post ... i hate to think about hurricane season already as we just got the check to fix up from the last. such is life in the big , whatever it is now ...
Peggy - You have a funkalicious holiday, too. A Sugar Baby Martinis has Vanilla Vodka, Baileys, Kahlua, Cream and a drizzle of caramel on top. Oh, yeah.
Sleepybomb - I know what you mean about hurricane season. I swear, it's going to take a lot of valium to make it from June through November next year.
Excellent list of thankfullness.
Happy Butterfly - Thanks!
