Merry Christmas to Me

I decided on the XM and bought the Delphi XM2GO. I did an online trial of the music on each service and I preferred XM. I really couldn't tell you why because they both have huge musical selections. So, I wouldn't say that XM is better than Sirius. It was just my preference. Try both out online before you buy to see which music selection feels good to you. As far as receivers, I wanted one that did everything and this is it. I haven't tried it in my car or as a portable, yet, but it sounds great playing through my sound system in my living room with the built-in FM transmitter.

It's because "XM" sounds like "FM" and implies music. Where as Sirius sounds like Serious and is like being summoned to the principals office. hahahahaha... LG

Congrats - you will never go back to regular radio - I've had Sirius for about a year now (Both of these services have basically the same content - I am actually thinking about getting XM as well just for Major League Baseball). When you get stuck in a vehicle with a person with terrestrial radio, you'll find yourself very annoyed at the very first commercial. Depending on where you live and the conditions you have to drive through - you may need to get a wired kit for your FM modulator. After I put it in, I cut down all static. Also, depending on your vehicle, you may want to have the antenna professionally installed. If you've not intalled these sorts of things before - it may be a little confusing. Also they will probably install the cradle/wireless modulator - hiding all the wires and hard wiring the electric so you don't have to worry about always unpluggging the unit from the lighter/power plug. Good Luck!

A friend of mine, Jim Philips, has a program called "The Philips Phile" on XM channel 152 from 3-7 PM eastern time. It's mostly talk, but it's a good show.

It's on WTKS-FM 104.1 here in Orlando. Let me know if you listen to it.

LG - Hey, you might be onto something.

Al - I'm going to try to keep the wiring and stuff as portable as I can regarding my car installation because if I have to take a long trip in someone else's car, I plan to bring my XM with me.

Hipster - I do like both of those but the one I'm already addicted to is Channel 22 - Modern Adult Hits.

Dave - I will definitely check it out!

Ryan - I haven't had time to try it out in my car but I'll keep the hardwire thing in mind. Thanks.

Does that thing double as an MP3 player?

Larry - Mine doesn't but Sirius makes one that does. Mine can record 5 hours of programming so you can listen to it later if you have trouble getting a signal. The cost of mine was $150 after a $50 rebate. The ones that record MP3's are in the $300 range.
