Albino Whitetail Deer

NOTE: After rechecking with the girl who sent me the e-mail about this deer, I found out she does not actually know the people who found it. According to Snopes, the story behind the baby deer is still unconfirmed.

One of the girls at work forwarded these pictures to us from a friend of hers. The friend's husband saw the deer in the road and thought it was a goat but it turned out to be a very rare albino whitetail deer. They called the Houston Zoo and Fossil Rim and decided to give the deer to a game warden. If I get anymore details about what happened to the deer, I'll let everyone know.

The picture below shows the deer laying beside a tennis shoe.

I happened to see something about this on snopes.com the other day. It's the same pic. I don't know what to make of it. Really strange looking animal.

V - Isn't it cute?

Dick - The girl who sent it to me works in the office next door and she said it came from a friend. I'll send her the Snopes link. The e-mail she sent me was exactly the same one as the one on Snopes. I know she has friends in Conroe so maybe she can get them to call and confirm that it isn't an urban legend. Thanks for the link.

We had an albino moose years ago up in this area. There isn't a season on them here and it had a parasite in the brain which caused it to roam this far south. But some jackass went out and shot it anyway mostly for the notariety. He got fined a pittance and went on with life. I wanted to implant said parasite into his brain and turn him loose in Mexico but nobody listened.

Storm Trooper (Charlie) - Sorry dude, wrong blog. I hope you work it out with whoever you're trying to work it out with. Let us know how it goes. :)

Gee that's cute, but kinda pathetic. Is it blind?

I saw a half-albino deer, a yearling once. Rarity. Some people would think it would make a pretty coat. Not me. I thought it looked pretty good on the deer.

Question: Could an albino deer be anything OTHER than a WHITE TAIL deer?

Just a thought...

I kind of had the nose and eye tones of that deer back in college.

Mark - Oh, I hadn't thought of the ghost aspect. Creepy.

Comfort Addict - Isn't it though?

Ed - That's a great story!

Old Horsetail - Well said.

Wow, I have never seen such an animal. Those eyes are they really this red and do you reckon they will change color once the deer gets older? Interesting stuff!!!

Astrid - Albino's have no pigment anywhere in their bodies and that doesn't change throughout their lives. Their eyes will always be pink.
