I'm a Nun
I read on Aisha's blog that one of her friends (or her friend's friend, we're not sure which) is giving up shopping for herself during Lent.
I thought this sounded like a great idea. Like I told Aisha, I'm an extremely lapsed Catholic but I always try to at least give up meat on Friday during lent (eat seafood, yeah, that's a big sacrifice) and try to make one of those small sacrifices for the forty days of lent more commonly known as Giving Something Up. My hope is that, although these small efforts probably won't get me into heaven, they might at least shorten my time in purgatory.
We are, therefore, calling ourselves NUNS - No Unnecessary Needless Shopping. Join us if you like in our, probably futile, attempt at becoming heaven worthy.
