I took my camera with me on my afternoon walk today because when I went walking the other day, I saw all sorts of wonderful things. I saw rolling papers and dead worms and lots and lots of dog poo.
Although I searched high (excuse the pun) and low for the rolling papers today, I couldn't find them. I did, however, find the amputated G.I. Joe doll leg I saw the other day.
Cool.
More pics below.
Walking total for today: 8000 steps

Thats a neat slide show thingy! I tried counting steps once and found my cheap pedometer only counted one leg. I reckon I don't bounce enough. But my town has a paved walking trail thats a mile total, and its on the way to the school, so I do a mile right after I let the kids off. Last summer I was doing two miles every day, and I felt wonderful!
I love your patio!
Miss Cellania - I wish we had some nice walking trails here but my neighborhood is a great place to walk.
Laura - Thanks! I'm planning a BBQ. I'll let you know.
One of the things I love about solitary walking is the stuff you see that you might not see if you were walking and talking with someone. It also gives you time to think without the usual distractions.
I carry my phone which is a camera, and sometimes a dictaphone if I am mulling over something that I need to write or some sort of problem in my head. Then I just record my thoughts and let them go, no need to waste energy remembering them. I think my new phone records but I haven't tried that yet.
Walking forces me to slow down and really see where I am, hear the sounds, and enjoy the breeze (if there is one.) It also makes me think of how our ancestors might have seen things. Its quite hard to see a blade of grass from a moving car.
Susan - I like the smells...except for the dog poo.
Laurie- The smells in Beaumont are a bit different than up here, though I imagine dog poo smells the same.
My suitcase still smells a bit Beaumonty even after a trip to Chicago!
I like those too, most of them.
*jvvyw-journeys vary vastly yet wonderfully
Who knew poo could be so fascinating?!? I am already anticipating tomorrow's poo installment!!!
Grimm - You are SO easily entertained.
