Tragic Loss

This just happened in my building about 30 minutes ago:

BREAKING NEWS from KFDM.....

Beaumont police are investigating the death of a man who fell down an elevator shaft. Officer Crystal Holmes tells KFDM News the 32 year old man fell down the elevator shaft at the Bank of America building at 2615 Calder Avenue near 10th Street. It happened at about 11 a.m. Wednesday. Holmes says the man worked for an elevator inspection company, Schindler Elevator Incorporated. Holmes says the elevator was above the man on the tenth floor, and he apparently slipped and fell while he was inspecting it. Another man was working with him and saw what happened. The man fell to the base of the shaft and died.

I had the hardest time yesterday trying to focus after that incident. Then I received a phone call regarding someone else I knew who died that morning in a motorcycle accident. These things were both freak accidents, but shows us that Life can be taken so fast. It was just another day for these folks....

Very sad...

The link to your blog caught my eye. I used to live in NOLA. Do you visit there often? I used to live just a block off of St. Charles Avenue in the Garden District. I loved it.

Check out my blog if you have time.

Old Horsetail - Something must have gone terribly wrong.

Gothic Princess - Before the hurricane, we went 2 or 3 times a year. We're going back in March of this year. I'm on my way out but will definitely be checking out your blog. Thanks for popping in.
