As I sit here, something is going on in my attic. For a couple of weeks now, I've heard something up there when I sit here at my computer. I'm pretty sure it's a bunch of baby birds. I tried to convince myself they were in the tree outside my window. Denial is my best friend.
A few seconds ago, I heard something run across the attic floor right above my head. Maybe it was a squirrel, but it sounded bigger like maybe a cat or a raccoon. I'm not letting my brain go to rat because then I'll have to move.
The birds, or whatever they are, are freaking the fuck out. Hell, I'm freaking the fuck out. I'm afraid to open the closet door that has the attic access for fear the whole Wild Kingdom scenario will come crashing down into my house.
Circle of life, my ass. I hate nature.

I'm sure it's just some squirrel storing his nuts in your attic. Call animal control.
Didn't you have a dead bird stuck in your siding a while back? Maybe the animals are trying to communicate with you.
Laurie - Just had to drop by to tell ya ... love the new pic, love the song...you're looking GOOD, sista!
As for nature, any time I have to walk outside at night to put something in our "big bertha," this family of big-ass blackbirds always flutter around in the low-hanging branches a few feet away from me...i scream and run inside every single time. Gotta look out!

I don't think its a cat, because the birds would be dead and that might smell. It could be the raccoons or bigger birds.
I'm feel the same way about rats and mice, if they live here I'm leaving. My theatre is right next to a field and a railroad track, we occasionally get a field mouse. I can't go watch a movie at my own theatre for fear of one being around.
Crap, now I'm going to dream about those rat bastards!
Jen - I see dead birds.
Mrs. F - Thanks, girl! You're so funny. Be careful out there!
Zina - I do have some really big birds around here.
We have mice that have joyously eaten 2 lbs. of poisoned rat food. How can we get some of that melamine the Chinese are using?
Maybe someone is playing Jumanji up there, watch out for the wild animal stampede now!
Lately I've been starting to feel this way about my basement. We found evidence of mice down there once and, even though they seem to be gone, my rodentophobia continues.
Old Horsetail - Hahahaha!
Neil - Oh, great. Something else to have nightmares about.
Comfort Addict - If I see a critter of any kind in my house, in my mind it's still there. Doesn't matter if I actually saw it being smooshed. It still haunts me.
If it is one thing I cannot stand, it's things storing their nuts in my attic.
Heres hoping it is just a squirrel and not something much much bigger.
Grimm - Whatever it was, it went away...with the baby birds. It's quiet up there now.
