American Idol -

So, I was wrong about a big shocker and Melinda going home. I plead confusion because this season has totally confused me.

First I couldn't wait for Antonella and Sanjaya to go home. Then, for reasons I can't quite put my finger on, the contestants who were left behind after they were gone just didn't excite me. I found myself longing for someone to hate because at least hate is an emotion. Disinterest doesn't interest me.

When I watched the preview of the American Idol Summer Tour, I thought, "Meh." I've never thought "meh" in connection with American Idol before.

Meh.

I don't get this show. I've always thought "Meh." None of the winners could ever be an idol to me. Maybe it's such a big hit because it has "American" right in the title, so it feels unpatriotic NOT to be a fan. Hey, maybe that would work for other game shows: "The American Price is Right." "American Jeopardy." "Wheel of American Fortune." And, of course, "Who Wants to Marry an American Millionaire?"

Hey, I like the new name, the new picture and the new layout. Have you heard Randy Newman's original version of "Leave Your Hat On"? Much skankier and nastier. You almost want him to register as a sex offender when he's done singing.

Larry - I don't really know why I like it (liked it?), but the American part isn't it. Although, I did enjoy Love American Style. Hmmmm, maybe you ARE onto something.

Thanks for the layout comments. I think I'll lookup Randy Newman's version and Tom Jones' version and alternate them for my theme song. I get bored so easily.

I think the show is becoming more boring because it's getting predictable. I'm even able to tell you what the judges will say and how Ryan will razz Simon and how he'll torment the contestants at each elimination.

I don't miss that skanky Antonella one bit, but I hate to say it: I miss Sanjaya. In no way did he deserve to win, but he at least added some flair to the show.

I don't think that the show has found its success with "blind patriotism," either.

Jen - It definitely might be the predictability factor.

I haven't been as excited about this season, either. I do think Jordin will win, though.

Leslie - I wonder why it isn't as interesting this year.

Jordin will be a star.

The rest...meh.

I think I like that word.

Grimm - Yeah, meh.
