It's Time for a Poll

No matter how hard I try, I always forget to change at least one clock during the Daylight Savings Time changeover. Thank God most of my electronics change themselves automatically or I'd have a real mess on my hands.

This time, the clock I forgot to change was my desk clock at work. At 9:30 a.m. (standard time), I looked at my clock and it said 10:30 a.m. (daylight savings time). It was taunting me.

My first thought was, "My goodness, the morning sure has flown by."

My second thought was, "My goodness, I sure have been goofing off a lot because I haven't gotten crap done."

It wasn't until my third thought that I realized I hadn't changed the time on my desk clock. Years ago, I worked with a secretary who picked up her purse, punched the time clock and walked past several of us on her way to the elevators.

"Where are you going?" we asked.

"I'm going to lunch, why?" she said in a tone that indicated she thought it was a stupid question.

"At 11:00?" we said in a tone that indicated that we weren't the ones who had just done something stupid.

"No, it's noon...oh."

The trouble I have with "Falling Back" is my body clock forgets to reset! Take this fall in England, for example. It gets pitch dark at 5pm. This is a new thing for me! By six, I'm ready for bed. When we eat dinner at 6:30, it feels like 11:00 pm. If I can manage to stay awake past seven, I'm up until one in the morning.

It's like really bad jet lag. Crazy!

You know, I'm working on becoming clock free. The one on my car radio has gone dark (note to self: get that fixed) so I not only can't tell time, but I have no idea what station I'm listening to. The rest change themselves. I've given up wearing a watch and don't miss it. :)

i dont wear a watch, i check the time on my cell phone, which changes by itself.

And i got a new stereo for the car...
And i didnt read the manual, so i dont know how to change the time.. haha...
it's 2 hours ahead...
but i know it is.. so.. im not confused by it's time, though most people who get in my car do. :P

I should read the manual some time.. hehehe

I have no watch---I just go by other peoples' timepieces, and I needed the space for my tattoo. However, if I had a watch, I would have put a reminder in my calendar which would have generated an e-mail and I would be as punctual as usual.

Actually, I picked "None" because here in S'pore they don't have Daylight Savings Time.

Hi, Laurie!
If you have a minute, could you please tell me how to get rid of the little wrench and screwdriver icons on my blog?
Thanks a million!
Rebecca

Just... - Wow! I had no idea it got dark so early over there.

Sophmom - I've been without a watch for a couple of weeks now and I'm surprised that I haven't missed it.

Leon - Men! (Hahahaha)

Lorna - Now, there's a plan.

Shelli - Smarty pants.

40 Forever - I'll pop over to your blog and leave you a comment there. For people here who might be interested in the same question, the wrench and screwdriver only show when YOU are looking at YOUR OWN page. It's for editing purposes.
