People Get Paid to Do That?
I just saw a commercial for Aquapod bottled water. It's regular old spring water that is bottled in a shape to appeal to kids. Supposedly, the water is "orbtastic."
It's water, just water. Yet, by just changing the shape of the bottle, the water becomes "orbtastic." I shudder to think of the amount of time spent around advertising agency conference room tables promoting and selling this concept to enable their client to sell more water. Just water.
Come to think of it, a person can also buy dirt, grass, wild flowers and oxygen. I wish I could think of a cool way to package ear wax and toe cheese. I'd make a million.

In a former life, I would have agreed with you. I still do for the most part. HOWEVER, if I buy these, both of my kids will drink water!
(My daughter will, anyway but my son only likes the flavored waters--those are all my hubbie drinks!) My son will only drink plain water if he feels he is truly about to die of thirst, if he can get it from a water fountain or if it comes from some cool bottle like these!
I felt lucky to find some the other day that have flouride added. They are a more normal shape but the twist-up top is cool enough that he'll drink those, too.
(I know...my parenting skills need serious work!)
I just heard about water now coming in those cardboard juice boxes, for kids. Though I break down and do it occasionally, I HATE buying bottled water; I use the bottle over and over, and more cities are encouraging people to use tap water now anyway. Eco-friendly. :-)
Lory KC - Whatever works! My main parenting skill was bribery.
Gnight Girl - Yeah, I buy it, too. It's amazing what I'll pay for plastic and convenience.
When I lived in Texas, I would only drink water if was filtered, in a bottle, or so ice cold that I couldn't taste anything. The water in the UK is a lot better, and I can drink it straight from the tap. However, I do like bottled fizzy water!
Hello
I have written one beautiful fable.
FAIRIES NOT TO CRY THE MOTHERS---
I would want to make you to read it, you I can send written in English?
A lot after read you can also elimanre the comment too much being long ..... That you say? Hello. Lina
It is lucky indeed that somebody sells oxygen, for I need it 24/7. Lots of us do. As for water, I found a neat reusable container that is just terrific. You don't even need a special nozzle on the water tap to fill it up.
well at least there is a tangible product in those bottles!
Jack is selling the new green equivalent of the emperor's new clothes, carbon offsets. It is what ex-vps buy to assuage their guilty conscious over their wasteful energy indulgences.
Beguile Me - Really? I wonder why the water tastes better there.
Solo Poesie - Your comment isn't too long and I'm going to keep it. I'm going to try to translate your fable myself. That should be a nice challenge for me.
Old Horsetail - I'm glad they figured out the oxygen thing, too.
Susan - And lovely little bottles, they are.
