Re: House Damage

On my previous post, I was in a hurry. It's my sister Bonnie's house that has no shingles and no carport, I am missing some back siding, my mom's fence fell down and part of her patio roof is gone. I neglected to give the status of my sister Terry's house. My dad, the rebel, who has gone back to Beaumont against the president's wishes, says that Terry's house has a tree limb on it but no other damage. So, we're in good shape. I'll post more tomorrow.

Thanks for all your good wishes. Hopefully, we'll be home soon.

That's great news. My family fared pretty well too. We were some of the lucky ones. :)

I'll be staying here for a while. I am not going to be rushing back to town with no power, etc. I am too spoiled to go without A/C.

Isn't it amazing how everyhting is relative :-0 A carport gone, branch over the house: suddenly, thatis peanuts to some people...
Faced with the alternative...

Shingles? Carport? Patio roof?
Who needs'em!

Way to go, Texas!

No news from Silsbee-- hope it is just an electricity prob if they stayed, an access to PC problem if they evacuated.

I got to see lots of Beaumont on the news this weekend. Looked like a nice town but kind of windy and rainy.

Did you get a chance to loot me anything?

Glad to hear that you made it through. Wish you all the best in getting everything cleaned back up.

Well, that's not all that bad. Fortunately it will be easy to get it fixed because there will be a lot of carpenters with nothing to do. Maybe.

Jen - Glad you're okay. I spoke to Mona yesterday and they don't know when we'll be able to go back to work.

Sleepybomb - As soon as I get Beaumont back in shape, I will definitely be concentrating on New Orleans and Metry again!

Aisha - Isn't that weird. We heard electricity might be out for 2 weeks which sounded horrible until I got the latest estimate of 6 weeks.

Ed - I have been looting my brother and sister-in-law's pantry.

Old Horsetail - Yeah, those carpenters will just be standing around drinking coffee. I'll grab me a coupe.
