After 14 more hours in the car, we are finally back in Alvin, Texas with my son and daughter-in-law. Latest estimates on being allowed back into Beaumont is 3 - 4 weeks. When we got here, I kissed my car, bugs and all. We are going to try to get back into Beaumont this weekend to pick up some of my bills that need to be paid and clean out my refrigerator but we're still not sure if we can get back in.

Good Luck Laurie! Bring food with you and make sure you eat!!!
Nope never kissed my car, but I don't kiss many things, or people ;-)
Laurie: Let me know if you can get in to Beaumont. My car is there and I have no transportation except for what I can borrow here and that's not very dependable. I'm trying to find some temporary work to keep myself busy but there are not many jobs here. I met a girl at a meeting who works for the coast guard and she's getting a bunch of paper work for me for FEMA, etc. Julie has gone to Baton Rouge and is staying with Mandy. I'm glad all of you are safe. Please let me know b/c I check you and Jen's blog every day.
Oh, by the way, it's me, Davie. I'm at Cindy's house still and using her computer.
We just had to go through that ordeal to clean out my parents freezer and fridge. They are in Singapore and their house is on Toledo Bend. I'm not sure how long they will be without power, and they are due to return from Singapore on the 12th.
I bet your refrigerator back at your house smells better than the refrigerator shared at my office. I have to take a deep breath, open the door, throw my lunch inside and see how far I can make it down the hallway before I need to breath again. (I seal my lunch inside a bag to keep other oders at bay while it is chilling before lunch.) I think I am going to start creating power outages by unplugging the beast before leaving the office on the weekend in an attempt to get people to clean it out.
Susan - Start kissing chicky (people I mean)!
CindyBindy (Davie) - I'll let you know. I can't WAIT to be back at work and see everyone!!!
Shelli - I'm afraid those more outlying areas might be without power for a while.
Ed - That's so funny. I think every office refrigerator is a stink hole. I can't wait to get back to my stink hole office refrigerator. :) Bye Dude!
