Beaumont, Texas: The Next New Orleans?

My blogging friend Mark Hancock has some excellent thoughts on how Beaumont could step up and live up to its potential. I love Beaumont and I love New Orleans so, please don't think that for one minute, I think Beaumont could hold a candle to New Orleans. However, Beaumont could use a swift kick in the ass and Mark has some wonderful ideas.

I read that a few days ago, and thought he had some excellent ideas. Beaumont City Council should be made aware of them. :)

An international airport would definitely be needed, even a full domestic one would help. The current, regional airport makes it very hard, expensive and time consuming to get to Beaumont from outside the region.

Sounds like a great idea, but it would take to long to get ready. When your Aunt Bea and Uncle Henry were here for your Birthday Party, they mentioned about Lafayette being the Mardi Gras place until New Orleans gets back on its feet. They already have a great party each year and have beautiful Floats, Hotels and restaurants to accommodate the people. And Baton Rouge also has a Great Mardi Gras Party. Some where their will be a great time. NEW ORLEANS WILL RISE AGAIN. To many Famous and Rich people have already made plans.
