I think this guy is serious about this. If you're having problems with being abducted by aliens, it couldn't hurt to make yourself one of these little hats. Click on the link for instructions and other links.

I am sure 3M, a local company, is just thrilled to have another product use for their Velostat TM Conductive Film (that is unaltered by humidity, age and most chemicals, as well as being heat sealable!)
However I would think the film would encourage alien abductions rather than prevent them.
Maybe that's why Bonnie wouldn't take him? It would be just too easy, and where is the fun in that?
