A little tropical storm blew in this morning. You know how I'm always calling those reporters idiots for taking video out in the storm? Here's my contribution to the idiot pool.
These winds were only about 30 m.p.h. to 40 m.p.h. I can't imagine what it's like during an actual hurricane. We had a little category one come through last year (Humberto) and it was frightening.

It sounded like a lot of wind! Did you get the day off? Mr. DJ's office closed for the day, but everyone who flew in from Europe still met at the hotel downtown.
Just... - They GAVE us the morning off and I TOOK the rest of the day. My poor traumatized grand-puppy needs me.
Glad to hear Mr. DJ made it. I've been thinking about him and your in-laws. I think they're getting more rain in Galveston than we had here.
Baby sis:
I'm sure Oakley is a big tough dog. I'm sure he was just worried about his sister, grand-fabulous Ava. Baxter was out barking at the trees. I've started calling him Dog Quiote fighting the great windstorms. My electricity finally came on around noon.
hey Laurie - long time - Let's this is it for storms. Don't have the heart to break out the blue tarps for roofing again
Glad it wasn't that bad, poor Oakley :(

Poor Oakley! (That clip was really cute, though... especially when he moved to be closer to you.) :)
When I lived in the Pacific Islands we had these storms all the time. It was always exciting and fun and a bit scary all at the same time. But it was just another season, and we all lived in concrete houses and had generators and water tanks and usually checked into the Hyatt if it got really bad.
I mentioned some about in my post yesterday. I am looking for pictures.
Now about those "idiot reporters" careful, I'm married to one!
I'll agree it sometimes looks kinda silly, but honestly, would you take him seriously if he did his report from the hotel lobby?
Good to hear that you and Oakley made it through OK.
Baby Sis - Hahahaha!!
Al - I'm with you, brotha.
Susan - Not bad at all.
Ms. E - He hates bad weather.
Teresa - I would actually take the reporters MORE seriously if they stayed inside. I think I finally went over the edge with the "out in the storm" reporting during Katrina and Rita. Go inside already and stop screaming for God sake. No offense. :)
Baby sis:
Okay now I'm mad at that pussy of a storm. I racked some branches today and saw how many pecans he shook out of tree in the front yard. He owes me some nuts.
Baby Sis - Bastardo!
I would be one scared puppy. And is that the Klimt umbrella? Classy.
