It's sort of like the chicken and the egg thing. Which came first? Who the hell knows. The difference between the chicken and the egg thing and the smiling thing is that when you feel good you smile AND when you smile you feel good.
Supposedly smiling lowers your blood pressure and boosts your immune system. Here's another smiling fact that's not so funny:
- The average pre-schooler laughs or smiles 400 times a day. That number drops to only 15 times a day by the time people reach age 35.
Of course, none of this changes the fact that I hate it when people tell me to smile. I'll smile when I'm good and damn ready and, probably, not when you're looking at me you smile demanding asshole.

You are so funny.
I love to make eye contact with a person who is passing by me and smile to see if they will smile back. If they don't make eye contact they are not about to smile. 89% of the time I can get a smile from the person. It's fun. If they don't smile, after they pass me I stick out my tongue at them. That's tacky, but fun. (Look Laurie it's only 1:00, but I will probsbly be up till 3:00. To everyone else, I have a sleeping problem.
My mom sent this link to me, it made me smile and think of you....

I hope you voted for that guy.
Rebecca - Aw, thanks. :)
Mom - So, that's where I get it.
Neal - I'm going to post that. I don't remember if I voted for Poe or not. Sounds like I should have if I didn't.
Hilarious! I will try it.
I'm so impressed by the way you avoid sarcasm
"Smile
tho'
your heart is aching,
Smile
Even though it's breaking,
When there are clouds in the sky- You'll get by,
If you
Smile through your fear and sorrow,
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through- For you.
Light up your face with gladness,
Hide ev'ry trace of sadness,
Altho' a tear may be ever so near,
That's the time you must keep on trying,
Smile- What's the use of crying,
You'll find that life is still worthwhile,
If you just smile."

Kill them with kindness, and they will never know what hit them
In Kelly's and my marriage we have had times were she was pretty mad at me and I would sit there and just smile at her. Usually she start by saying "It ain't funny" but eventually she would start laughing and punch me in the arm and call me a jerk. By that time she forgot what she was mad about. So far this had been a weapon of choice for me.
Alyson - Good for you!
Lorna - :)
Susan - That's such a lovely song.
Claybob - Aw, who could resist your irrestible smile. Kelly has a pretty cute one herself. :)
