Kris Kristofferson and Lucky Meeee!

I went to a casino Friday night to see Kris Kristofferson, whom I've been in love with for somewhere around 30 years. I'm sure he feels the same way about me. His words are so beautiful, I cried a couple of times. I cry at movies and Hallmark commercials, but I rarely cry at concerts. It was a beautiful experience.

I would like to give a shout out to the two idiot women who were sitting a couple of rows in front of us who kept standing up and shouting "Kris for President" and singing along with the music way too loud, way off key and way off tempo. Ladies, as hard as it might be for you to believe it, I didn't pay for a ticket to hear YOU sing. So, next concert you go to, do the folks around you a favor and shut the fuck up.

Regarding the gambling, I lost so much money gambling Mother's Day weekend ($185...that's a lot to me...this is a full disclosure blog), that I decided to waste the time I had before going into the concert by playing penny slot machines. I did so well before the concert that I hit the machines again after the concert. By the time I cashed out for the night, I had ended up winning $125. Now, I know that doesn't sound like a lot of money, but if you move a couple of decimals and pretend I was playing dollar machines, that's some good gamblin'.

I ALWAYS lose on slot machines, but stop at 20 bucks a time. What annoys me though, if I bought a movie ticket, that'd be about 120 minutes of entertainment - with a slot machine that money wouldn't last ten minutes with me, I feel used and ripped off, blah.

Way cool! I like Kris Kristofferson and I can totally see you with him, LOL! of course he is a bit older than you but if he can make you cry...

I did wonder last weekend when I saw Al Stewart when I turned around to see most of the audience singing along, how Al felt about that. They were quiet though.

Glad you are winning again. $125 on penny slots is impressive.

How far away is the casino?

I only play the slots. The other games take too much thinking ;-)

Neil - I lose about 90% of the time, but about once a year, I'll win back a little.

Susan - There are some close and some a little farther, but nothing beats Vegas, baby.

Just... - I always say I'm going to try some table games, but it's just too stressful.

I would have paid money to hear you *actually* say "STFU" to those ladies.

I can't stand it when the audience is so loud that you can't hear the performers. That's why the Beatles stopped doing live shows.

I just hate when you spend a lot of money on a concert and obnoxious people ruin it. Big pet peeve!

Jen - Oh, I was SO close to saying it.

Rebecca - It's nuts.

Alyson - Me, too.

Anton - Not a good idea...not a good idea at all.

At first when you mentioned Kris Kristofferson in a comment on my blog, in my mind, I imagined Christopher Cross. Then, I clicked over here and um, there's a big difference there.

$185 is a lot of money! You're my kind of gambler. The most money I've ever won has been on nickel slots. Mostly because I like to play a while and make it last.

I saw Kris here in Fort Worth at Bass Performance Hall on my last birthday. When I saw an elderly couple get out of their car and start pushing walkers toward my destination, I realized that as much as I really like Kris Kristofferson, I probably should update my tastes to at least the '80s.

George - I know what you mean. I didn't see anyone younger than 50 at the concert I was at either.
