Hah, I thought the name of the band was Texas Paranormal Investigating Society. If I ever get my band up and running, I'll use that.

I am the promoter of the convention and if you guys have any questions feel free to contact me at our website : txparanormal.com By the way if your thinking about naming your band I dont think it would be a good idea to use our name ( its copyrighted )lol.

Oh once we have the convention website up you can go to texasghostshow.com! Some of the guests we are planning on having is Kristyn Garland and Tango(from TAPS), John Zaffis and Mrs. Hester Eby from the Myrtles Plantation.

Interesting because when I googled paranormal conventions in Beaumont the ONLY one that came up was the one that the Texas Society of Paranormal Investigators is putting on. I think that this Souls thing is a copy cat, it looks like they started theirs after they heard that the other group was putting one on.

Anonymous said...

I was on The Texas Society of Paranormal Investigators web site and the Souls group....ummm BIG difference! I cant believe that a group (souls) would have spent so much money on a website but cant even spell half the word correctly. That group looks like a scam. I don,t know about you, but I'll spend my money where at least I know I'm getting what I pay for. $250.00 for a ticket!!?!?! Souls sounds like a rip off! The other group is selling tickets from $20 to $75!

Don Dennis said...

Well I'm not going to get into a battle royal on a blog site, but the Texas Society of Paranormal Investigators are indeed having a paranormal convention and our tickets start at 20 and go up to 75. I don't know what Souls have planned, they are not affiliated with our group, but I will agree that 250.00 is a little excessive for a ticket. Whichever you attend I hope that everyone has a great time.

Laurie said...

TxMom - Thanks for the info!

Anonymous 10:48 - I'm not going to assume anything. It's possible they did rush theirs through to be first, but the two events seem to be totally different. I don't see how they will conflict with each other at all.

Anonymous 10:54 - I've attended national ghost hunting events and $250 isn't an unusually high price. Whether or not this event will merit that cost remains to be seen.

Their page looks amazing, but I did question their proofreading abilities.

Don - Well said and I'm glad you guys aren't battling. I hope there's enough interest that both events are a success and I certainly hope we hear some guarantees from the Souls group that they are genuine.

As a side note, anyone considering paying the $250 for the premium package should use a credit card which has fraud protection...just in case.

I AM NOT SAYING, NOR DO I HAVE THE SLIGHTEST REASON TO THINK THE SOULS GROUP IS NOT LEGITIMATE! It's just that, if you're going to pre-pay that kind of money for any reason, it's a good practice to use a credit card that will reimburse you in case of fraud.

ALSO!!! Please feel free to defend your groups here. I will continue to post and promote both events. I am not a fan, however, of petty bickering and nitpicking. I'm hopeful that both events and both groups will have tremendous success in southeast Texas.

Don Dennis said...

Laurie thank you very much for the opportunity to post on here. Hopefully this weekend we will have the tickets up for purchase, right now we are really busy with the clean up of the Old Olive Cemetery in Kountze, planned for this Saturday. You all are invited, just make sure you bring your work gloves! lol

Jodi-S.O.U.L.S. Paranormal said...

Hello all! I am Jodi Peacock, the Founder of the S.O.U.L.S. Paranormal group based out of Beaumont, Tx. It is so wonderful that everyone seems to be talking about our upcoming EVENT! The first of it's kind in 2009. We are so thrilled to be hosting this incredible, groundbreaking event in this area of Southeast Texas. In response to our ticket prices we feel that for what you actually are getting.....it is well worth the price and they are very limited! We have tickets that start at $50.00 up to $250.00
"Something For Everyone".We have been to conferences/conventions with ticket prices equal to these. As far as using fraud protection for purchasing S.O.U.L.S. FEST tickets, we are using a host called EVENTBRITE.com and PAYPAL which are both very secure sites. We are a very busy team of paranormal investigators who maintain a low profile in the community, we felt this was the perfect opportunity to mesh both what we do as well as educate our Area about the paranormal. As far as the other event, we have been in the works on this event since last year! We have been working extremely hard in between our CASES trying to get everything organized. As you can see it takes almost a full year to do this!!!! The other team, TSPI, is having an event as well, we have seen and we feel that it isn't anything like ours. It's more of a Sci-Fi/Paranormal Convention. I am not sure of all of the details since they aren't public. Anyone who has questions about our EVENT or our GROUP is more than welcome to email us at anytime. Our website is open to anyone at anytime with contact availability. As for the grammar on our site, please feel free to email us with the information and we will gladly proof it. These are websites actually made by humans who do seem to make human mistakes. As do we all at sometime or the other. We wish everyone in the paranormal community success in their studies and also in their upcoming events. We hope you will tune in June to Ghost Talk Radio on the INTERNET for we will be guests on the SHOW! check out our website at: www.soulsparanormal.com and our myspace page at : www.myspace.com/soulsparanormal

THANKS AGAIN AND HOPE YOU ALL COME OUT TO OUR EVENT!

Laurie said...

Don and Jodi - Thank you so much for your comments. I'll keep posting and promoting both shows.

Susan in St. Paul said...

So which one will have belly dancers?

I like cons!

Laurie said...

Susan - You just never know what might come up at these cons, do you. I'll keep my eye out for belly dancing though.

Don Dennis said...

Hmmmm...Belly dancers? Well, its a thought!lol To those that missed our spot on KBMT12 this weekend, please look at the articles in the Beaumont Examiner, Beaumont Enterprise, and the Hardin County News. We are in the process of putting together a South East Texas Adopt a Cemetery program to help clean up some of the less maintained and abandoned cemeteries in the Golden Triangle. I would invite souls to give us a call when they are ready to really make a difference in our community. Anyone that would like to volunteer a little time, feel free to reach me by posting here or by contacting Laurie! Sorry Laurie!lol

Laurie said...

Don - No problem! I'll do another post about the cemetary clean up.

Jodi-S.O.U.L.S. Paranormal said...

Hello again! I just happened to hear about another post that included S.O.U.L.S. Paranormal. This is something we usually don't do...respond to blogs. I just wanted to let everyone know, that unfortunately S.O.U.L.S. Paranormal will not be participating in the "Adopt A Cemetery" program. First and foremost...we do give back to the community. We have families that are in true need of our help. We are paranormal investigators who work very hard in helping actual people! All of our services are free of charge. We put so much time and effort into each and every case, that we don't have much time for anything else. Between our jobs, families, investigations its a struggle. Our upcoming EVENT has put even more restraints on our time. We are working with the Julie Rogers Gift of Life Breast Cancer Awareness program and we will be donating a portion of our "S.O.U.L.S. FEST" Proceeds to them!Stay tuned to our website too.....we have a surprise coming up in June!

P.S. Laurie...I believe one of our members knows you and your sister Bonnie! His name is John Johnson.
Just give us a shout if you'd like to chat :)

Laurie said...

Jodi - I'm so glad that you and Don are both commenting on this post. I'll be doing a new post soon, so that my friends can keep up with you guys and your events.

I do remember John! Nice guy.

I want to add that healthy competition is the American way and it benefits all of us and pushes us to be better. To have two such enthusiastic paranormal groups in our area makes me happy.

Don Dennis said...

Well its interesting that souls doesn't want to participate in a state wide, GOVERNMENT sponsored program. T.S.P.I. will be donating most of our proceeds to this project. I think that it is very important to help our community and preserve the history of our area.
Remember that if your buying tickets for any of the conventions in the area...check their refund policy. Its a fair practice to refund monies back to people in the event that the convention doesn't happen, if the ticket buyer makes a mistake and double clicks while buying tickets, anything like that. Our convention will work with ticket holders to make sure that everyone walks away satisfied.

Anonymous said...

From an outsider's point of view, Looking at both of these teams, I can see they are different. The Texas Society groups is helping clean cemeteries and the souls group is working with the breast cancer awareness. These are both wonderful programs. I am excited to even hear about groups like these here in this area. I have been to ghost hunting events and have really enjoyed them. As many tickets that I have bought I do remember them all having a "no refunds" policy, but I'm sure each group will choose their own policies. Hopefully each group can respect one another for what they are doing. Look forward to attending both events and seeing what they have to offer! Keep up the good work.

Steve Lewis said...

Dennis brought up a good point and since Jody seems to like to promote her event on Laurie's blog I think that maybe she can explain what would happen to the money from ticket sales if the event doesn't happen. Also why, if someone mistakenly double clicks while trying to purchase a ticket, then funds aren't returned for an obvious error. Now, I have been on both sites that they posted on here and I don't see any refund information on Mr Dennis's site. Why is that? I have been to MANY paranormal conferences and, yes there wasn't a refund policy, per say, but if a promoter is wiling to work with people that makes me fell more comfortable in purchasing anything from them.
I do think that what Mr. Dennis is doing with the cemeteries is a wonderful thing! I'm a little over the hill and cant get out to our families grave site as often as I should and its nice to know that the youth of America is trying to give back. I salute you sir. I hope that Jody's, contribution to the breast cancer awareness will do some good as well, but as I said there are questions that I have about the refund policy.

Scott Miller said...

It's funny how everyone seems to see that Jody is promoting her event, when she merely replied to a blog. I assume no refund means no refund! Some people seem to not remember when you buy a ticket to most things, you don't get a refund! I don't know about this souls group or this texas group but I want to know what is the big deal? You either go and buy a ticket or you don't! contact those souls people about it, they have some emails or something on their websites and ask them. From the way that Jody talked she seemed like she isn't trying to rip off anyone! This Dennis fellow seems to want to challenge them or something. What I think is , let it be!

Lydia said...

I wonder about paying 30.00 just to watch the sky! Hey I can watch the sky in my backyard for free. Come to my house and I'll make us margaritas and we'll end up seeing something up there, lol

Susan in St. Paul said...

Lydia-You guys can see my ghosts for free! LOL!

I went to a lecturer on Victorian corsets the other day and afterwards we toured an old mansion to look at corset related furniture, definitely felt paranormal in there. It costs $10 for the lecture, no refunds. There were treats though.

Laurie said...

Don - We'll let S.O.U.L.S decide which charities they want to contribute their time to. :) Everyone has their preferences and that's not really something we should debate.

The big TAPS/Darkness Radio convention I attended at The Stanley Hotel last November also had a strict no-refund policy and those tickets were $300. The $300 covered two full days of speakers and a ghost hunt with the celebrities (including Jay and Grant). IT WAS AMAZING. We didn't hestitate to purchase our tickets even though there was a no-refund policy and it was a huge sold-out event.

I do, however, feel that our money would have been refunded if the convention itself had been canceled. We'll let S.O.U.L.S tell us if that's also the case with their convention.

Also, the TAPS/Darkness Radio convention was not tiered, so it was $300 or nothing. I like the idea that the S.O.U.L.S convention gives us some choices.

Anonymous 8:33 - Exactly! Thanks for your input.

Steve - Both Don and Jodi are promoting their events here WHICH IS WONDERFUL. I'm also promoting BOTH events because I'm excited about both.

I agree that a no-refund policy is common and necessary in most cases, because of planning issues. Hopefully, Jodi will clarify whether or not "no refunds" includes cancellations by the event organizers or "double-click" problems.

Scott - Thanks for your comment in defense of Jodi. I don't think "everyone" is against Jodi. Whatever may or may not be going between the two groups (possible past history? I don't know) might be running over into this discussion.

My hope is that this will be a good place for both to present their sides of whatever issues might arise regarding their events.

I see no reason why both events can't be successful. They seem to be very different presentations and are going to be held about 6 months apart.

Lydia - I'm not sure what you mean about "watch the sky." Are you talking about the fact that Texas Paranormal won't have a ghost hunt? I've been on ghost hunts with big groups and, in some cases with my paranormal idols (!!!), and while fun, it's not all it's cracked up to be...ghost-hunting wise.

That being said, I am NOT discouraging anyone from purchasing Jodi's big package which includes the ghost hunt.

Susan - How cool!!

To everyone - The best thing that both of these groups can do for everyone is to put on TWO kick ass conventions and make everyone happy and proud. I can't wait!!

Lydia said...

HeeHee,
I was talking about the tickets on the ghostbusters website,if you go to their tickets on eventbrite.com,you will see they have skywatching. They have a ghostbusters LOGO!

Jodi-S.O.U.L.S. Paranormal said...

I have been extremely busy and have not had a chance to respond to our refund policy. I would like to assure everyone, that even though S.O.U.L.S. FEST has a "NO REFUND" policy, if you do double click or if the convention is cancelled we will work with you. If the convention is cancelled for some reason that is out of our control, we will reschedule the event for a later date! We are making every effort to prevent this from happening. We have already started getting ticket sales and we are very excited about bringing this event to Southeast Texas! Hope to see everyone come out and support their local Ghost Hunters and The Gift of LIFE! Thanks again, Take Care all.

I happened to google conventions and this site came up and after reading and doing a little research of both these conventions I wanted to ask a question. I was watching articles that the Texas guys put up and I see that Jody is in one of the videos that appeared on KBMT12 last year. Jody did you leave his group or were you kicked out? That may be why there is a little bickering back and forth. Just a little curious.

Thanks to S.O.U.L.S. they have help myself and my family understand better about the unexplained things happening in my home. My children are no longer afraid to enter their room and sleep by themselves. If I never found the ad for them we would have had to move from a home that we love and my children were raised in. So thank you S.O.U.L.S. for all your help....

Brian Moore said...

Geeze, why would this Souls group stoop to trying to advertise their group by having "clients" post to a blog site? Seems like they are going back to their roots of deceiving people. Isn't that why you were kicked out of the Texas group? Jody stick to photo shoping pictures of your group in places you've never been. I know one of your "clients" and they WEREN'T satisfied. They are the ones that called the police on you Jody...you remember.

Jodi-S.O.U.L.S. Paranormal said...

Hello! I'm so glad people are checking us OUT! It's nice to know people are interested in our group. I just happened to be online working on a new HOME PAGE for our website and I thought I would check out Laurie's Blog. Thanks to Lisa and Mitch and Anonymous for your wonderful Comments! To your comment Scott-I am in no way "bickering" with anyone. In response to your question, Yes I was with the TSPI group during two investigations. It just so happened on our second investigation, Channel 12 was covering the story. My Co-founder Tammi was also present during both of those investigations. As a person who has experienced paranormal activity, I was drawn to forming a group of my own. Before I actually formed S.O.U.L.S. Paranormal, I read about a TSPI meetup group and thought I would "Check them OUT". Tammi, another friend and I went to a TSPI meeting and that very evening went to a cemetery. The next meeting was a few weeks later, after the meeting....we went to two more cemeteries. That is when the reporter tagged along. That very night, I made the conscious decision to form a group of my own. I didn't feel this was the group for me. I wanted to do so much more than investigate different cemeteries or famous "Hot Spots". In no way am I criticizing any team for the investigations they do! Each team has a choice about where, when, why and how they perform investigations. I formed S.O.U.L.S. together with Tammi in order to help people who were experiencing paranormal events. We have dedicated all of our time to doing these particular types of investigations. I was not kicked out of the group nor was Tammi. We simply chose not to go to another meetup or investigate with TSPI because we formed our own investigative Team- S.O.U.L.S. Paranormal. Since that formation, we have truly been on a path that has exceeded all expectations! Thank you for the question.

Police-We have always performed investigations with clients who have signed all agreement/waivers to do so. We have strict guidelines we must follow in order to do an investigation. We have never had the police called on us or any member of our close-knit S.O.U.L.S. team.

Don't forget to check us out on the web at www.soulsparanormal.com and get your tickets for S.O.U.L.S. FEST at www.soulsfest.eventbrite.com!Always feel free to drop us an email at soulsparanormal@gt.rr.com or on our "contact us" page from our website! Good Night Everyone!

the texas groups tickets are confusing. could someone explain what you get for the $20 ticket, and the others. you are having a three day convention and do we have to pay for each day or does the $20 get us in all weekend? could someone just explain the ticket prices and what goes with them?

Michael said...

Lorna and Laurie - I am with TSPI. I'm afraid the groups don't get along. Paranormal investigating should NOT be competitive. I don't know the base members of the SOULS group, I can only tell you that SOULS founders Jodi and Tammy are straight up fonies and liers. The soul(no pun intended) purpose of their group is not to help people but an attempt to Copy Cat or "OUT DO" TSPI by means of lying and falsely representing themselves. Fortunately they have been unsuccessful at it and has even back-fired in our favor. Only after I called them on it did they remove Photoshop pictures of themselves in places that they never been. However the bigger problem is that these women have children that see this vendictive envy as accepted behavier. We try very hard to ignore their childish antics and move forward, but like spoiled babies they will not be ignored and raise the temper of their tantrum. The convention is a prime example. Even though we have the right to claim the first because it is on the books first. They started planning theirs once they learned of ours and of coarse they have to try and BEAT us by throwing one together before the TSPI convention. I could go on for days with examples.
Jodi and Tammys' motivation comes from a very very dark place in their souls, not from compassion for others.

james said...

michael man calm down! you sound like you are going to blow a gasket.sounds like you worry about souls when you should be thinking of tspi.dude you were wrong to say anything about there kids. i think you have problems. they have not responded negative to other comments before.are you trying to get one now.

Steve Lewis said...

James your right Souls haven't "responded negatively" in this blog. They have insinuated that Micheals group doesn't help real people, they have posted comments under fake names, and even had a "client" post a fake compliment. I think that the questioning of TSPI as to the content of their convention, is ridiculous. The thing is 11 months away! when I first saw this blog it was three or four posts. Mr Dennis posted a reply to a comment and since then there has been a flood of people on here posting, replying, commenting on this and I really think its great but hit above the belt. Although Jody claims HER group doesn't comment on blog sites it seems that she and her followers have flooded it with either gloating remarks for Jody or backhanded comments at Mr Dennis. I cant believe that there are such childish people as to say that one group "sucks". I think that some people need to grow up and do their own thing. Laurie's blog isn't the place to hash out what seems to myself and several other people like very underhanded actions. Im sure that after I post this there will be another "comment" from Jody or another new name pop up to defend her and put down the TSPI group, but I think that people will begin to see that the Souls group is out for blood and will stoop to the lowest levels to draw it. And I have read the TSPI site to purchase tickets....$20.00 is a general admission ticket, I dont know about you but he is very clear that its just a general admission ticket. You walk in, listen to some speakers, walk around and maybe buy something, then leave...how hard is that to understand.

Michael said...

Steve and James are obviously connected with SOULS. I guess the truth is just hard to hear.

Laurie said...

Everybody - I've received e-mails from many of you apologizing for the commenting here.

In my opinion, you've all kept it a clean and civil discussion. You all, naturally, feel a need to defend your groups which is understandable.

As we all know, these types of conflicts are very common in he paranormal community, which is unfortunate.

I sincerely hope that both conventions go off successfully and professionally. That will be the best outcome for all of you and will no doubt treat the rest of us to two magnificent conventions.

So, my challenge to you all is to prove yourselves through your actions and make Beaumont proud!

Good luck guys and no need to apologize for the debate. Just keep it clean and, from a paralegal's standpoint, be very sure about your allegations toward each other.

Peace! :)

Anonymous said...

logiwhy don't you all grow up and stop bickering......geez!!!! isn't this supposed to be an info. site and not a gossip room? you obviously have too much free time on your hands to continue in this daily battle of THE GROUPS. let's tick to the events and leave the personal bullshit out!!!!

Michael said...

Dear Anonymous - Heed your own words Jodi!
Laurie - Correct me if I am wrong, but I noticed that the blog started out mentioning the TSPI convention with people asking questions and Don Dennis trying to answer them. And as usual, Jodi butted in having to try and "OUT DO" TSPI with her "so called" convention and hogging the blog with her fony names, fake clients and Anonymous' in some TSPI bashing, which YOU seem to be alright with. So I just thought I would inject a bit of TRUTH and in-site into the SOULS agenda. Appologies to Steve.

Laurie said...

Michael - Where the comments go after the original blog post is written is dictated by the commenters.

You are correct in stating that I have no problem with Jody promoting her convention, as well. Why should that be a problem? Was I supposed to censor my commenters and try to keep everyone "on topic?" That's ridiculous.

I do not like your comment that I'm alright with any of this. You're both bashing each other and without knowing ANY of you personally, I have not and I will not make any judgments.

The conventions will speak for themselves.

Melissa said...

ok, nobody answered my question about the tickets. I am not part of any paranormal group. I am a possible paying patron. I want to know do I have to pay two 20.00 fees to get into both days? Ijust expect someone from the texas group to respond and not be mean to a possible ticketbuyer!

The SOULS event looks amazing and is very detailed, i just don't know if I can pay the 250. I might can do the 150 but I have time to save. :) Maybe if you arrange a lay a way plan- I could do it! Just a thought. I am going to both conventions and see what each has to offer.

friends of the paranormal, cling to one another and stop this fighting nonsense. Are you the spokesman? Peace be with you all.

Don Dennis said...

To all that had questions about our tickets...We are having a Sky Watching" session on three nights that are seperate from the convention itself. I will be posting more information on each of the tickets on the site this weekend. The $20 general admission tickets are for the day of the convention (Sat.), only. They allow you entry into the Civic Center and access to all the vendors, seating at the presentations, and that is it. There is a $35 ticket that will allow you all of perks of a General Admission ticket, plus a great meal at lunch time. And there is the VIP ticket that gets you preferred seating at the presentations, a private lunch with the guests and a few other things that I will post this weekend. As to the arguing that has been happening here , I have decided to take the high road and remove myself from the somewhat childish display. I can tell you that no one in my group will be posting under fake names or will have any clients post here. This discussion started out, as several stated, as a few of you asking questions about our convention, yet it has become a very disgusting display that I will not take part of and I will encourage my members to refrain from participating in. On the other hand I will stop in from time to time and update you on any changes that maybe taking place with our convention. I wish everyone luck and hope that those that attend both conventions will enjoy themselves equally.

I am from Tulsa, OK and have just recently moved down here to attend Lamar University. I happened to google paranormal teams in Beaumont Texas and this blog popped up! Looks as if Beaumont has a paranormal war. This is very common in the paranormal field. I did some ghost hunting up in OK and just thought I met check out some local groups. I can't wait for the events and I would really like to see someone bring the SPI girls to Beaumont!

Don Dennis said...

The Civic Center has a restaurant called the Neches Room. The menu hasn't been set in stone as of yet, but the dessert will be the Kentucky Bourbon Pecan Pie. We haven't decided on weather the meal will be Cajun or just a really good steak, but there will be a poll taken of the VIP's to see if there is a favorite.
And again, I will say that I wont stoop to the childish level that some have on this board. I dont see why some feel that taking pot shots under a fake name is so clever. If you have a valid point make it, otherwise, they have a wonderful place for children called AOL, try keeping your juvenile comments there.

We have to leave the civic center to go eat at the neches room? how long is the lunch going to last? do we have to walk down there? I have a friend that has to walk with two canes and he wouldn't be able to that. I am just trying to get more information about your convention SIR. Thank you and have a blessed evening my child.

Don Dennis said...

Forgive me for not being clear enough about the $20. ticket. We are planning on having an event for Friday night and yes, you ticket would be valid for that event as well. The only separate charge you would incur, would be if you wanted to attend the Sky Watchers Session with Ed Grimsley. As to Sister Mary's question about the event being handicap accessible, both the civic center and the Neches Room have Hadicap parking so there would be minimal walking involved for your friend.

Thank you for you intrest.

Don Dennis said...

Forgive my misspelling. I meant to say thank you for your interest.

HOT DOG! has anyone check out the souls event site you can now buy tickets on a layaway plan so you can spread the cost. I am going to have dinner with the Barry!I am so excited!

Anonymous said...

lol ticket sales THAT bad? someone just turned into the Wal Mart of conventions!

jj said...

someone is nice enough to try to accommodate everyone so they can have the best experience posible and you want to make fun of them
for shame on you. we have the chance to go and see people that most of us will only see on t.v. and now we have a chance to sit and talk and dine. wow ! thanks jodi and tammi you can count me in.he must only want the $50 ticket

Anonymous said...

JJ aka another fake name for Jodi, I think that you are realizing that you over priced your tickets and now have to "make arrangements", its too funny. I hope you enjoy. I'll stand in the parking lot and see them for free! hahah

jj said...

anonymous why are you so negative?
sounds like you have so much hate like this mike guy from tspi. we have 2 events within 6 months apart how lucky are we. bye the way if you cant buy cant buy ticket just ask i will buy you one maybe it will make you happy. i am john igmo not jodi

Anonymous said...

trust me "jj" is doesnt have anything to do with not being able to afford a ticket. The fact that they havent moved one ticket and now have had to implement a "lay a way" plan speaks for itself.

There is a lot of negative energy on both sides here, rather than find a way to peacefully coexist in the minds of your intended convention goers, you are making people choose sides which is unwise on many levels.

At this point based on reading both sides' posts, even if you had open parties with great food, non-stop belly dancing every night, free admission and I was in Beaumont at the time, I would be hesitant to attend either convention.

Laurie is being incredible generous in giving you this publicity opportunity on her popular blog.

Perhaps you can take your personal differences outside, and comment more on what your convention plans?

At the very least stop shooting yourselves in the foot, its painful to watch, not to mention possibly losing you attendees.

Jodi-S.O.U.L.S. Paranormal said...

I have emailed Laurie Concerning this blog and all of the commenters. S.O.U.L.S. members have not and will not post on this blog, on the contrary to what is being accused. This is simply accusations by another group. I am the founder of the group....the only one that has posted to this blog. I have nothing to hide or explain . . . everything my team is about is all public for viewing at anytime. www.soulsparanormal.com
All of these comments are why I chose not to continue to participate in the blog. If anyone has a question about our Conference, I will address those questions. As to responding to juvenile behavior, This is something I just will not do. My name is always posted on every comment I make. I just want to wish all paranormal groups and individuals good luck on their endeavors and conventions! Thanks again!

Bobby said...

Jody aren't you a member of Souls? Then your comment is a lie, YOU have posted on here. I don't think that Mr Dennis posted anything claiming that you were using fake names so what is this other "group" your talking about? OMG is there a third "secret" group that no one knows about? Sounds like a conspiracy to me! lol what a joke Jody

Bobby said...

Oh and Jody, since "everything about your group is for the public to view" How about a few small requests..1. A list of clients 2. A copy of your Non-Profit 501(C)3 form from the IRS (since you claim to be a non profit) and 3. a Copy of the copyright for your "Peacock Design." Since you claim that "it" is copyrighted. I think that before you open your mouth you need to think about what your saying. The more you talk the deeper you shove your foot in your mouth.
And to all those that want to claim Im a member of either group. I would never be in a paranormal group because of this ridiculous display here. Im not defending Mr Dennis, but I have a lot more questions about your group than his and he has been kind enough to answer my email and you decided to ignore it.

does it really matter? said...

Poor Bobby, can't even read! Let me put in simple terms. . . . . I believe, if I have read correctly, the lady by the name Jodi is the founder of her group. She said that she was the "only" person from her group that has posted on here. Her "members" have not.
Here is a quote from D.Dennis

Don Dennis-I have decided to take the high road and remove myself from the somewhat childish display. I can tell you that no one in my group will be posting under fake names or will have any clients post here.

interpret that any way you choose, if you are able to. Just let it go for Pete's SAKE! I guess you just can't do that . . . can you.

Bobby said...

Ummm Laurie back me up on this but it really doesnt look exactly like the Ghostbusters logo ( really called a no-ghost logo as stated on the ghostbusters fan site) and I believe that their use of that would be covered under the Fair Use Act of the Copyright Laws.

what religious belief would that be "you know who I am"?

why you want to talk about your Founder Dennis like that? cha u should be ashamed of yourself

Anonymous said...

Awwe took a little hurtin there Darwin? Grow up and get a life. Let both of the groups put on their convention without dummies like you interfering

SaraBeth said...

ok i went and checked out those videos Venus, and yes they screamed and ran? Is that a legitimate group? I would never put a video up like that? Maybe they want to be in the entertainment category. They definitely have a self conscious issue, due to the fact they have to always have publicity.

Don Dennis said...

Look this has gone on long enough people. There are those that have their reasons for disliking me and my group and there are those that have reasons to dislike Jody and her group, but please this is really getting ridiculous. This is just too much. Cant people just keep their posts to the convention and not make this a personal attack on either group?
There is a lot of work that is put into organizing these things and both groups need to be commended for undertaking their endeavor. I think that Jody can agree with me on this point, that it does no good to trash each other because it only hurts the cause and hinders both groups.
The conventions are not just to benefit each group, think of the income that our city will bring in. Hotels, restaurants, local businesses are just a few that will benefit. After all the damage from the hurricanes last year, this area needs people like Jody and I to step up and try to bring people to Beaumont. How does it look when someone from say Louisiana Google either convention and this site comes up. I know after reading some of these posts, I would have reservations about coming to either convention.
Please stop the name calling and the personal attacks. Either buy a ticket or just drop it. There's nothing to be gained by arguing on a blog. It only hurts everyone.

FedUP said...

your just a doof! You and your members constantly terrorize people on blogs, in emails and in other ways. I'm sure it will all come out in the wash

Mark O'Brian said...

Mr. Dennis I agree. I think that those that are bashing each group need to be ashamed of themselves. Let each group put on their own thing and stop with the childish bickering.

. . . . said...

did you say Babbitt? or Rabbit LOL

Natalie said...

I agree, that Jodi and Dan should be commended. They have tried their best to keep it clean. They can't control the comments that are being said about them or their groups. You all need to GROW UP and look at your self. Don't judge others for what they are doing. Just keep going on with the conventions even though there are hurtful people out there. It's really pathetic when you are in the public's eye. Take care and best wishes for your Jodi and Dan.

Lilly said...

if that is truly the way you feel Don Dennis, then why did Mike from your group start bashing the souls group! nothing was said about your group. He can't stop can he. he needs a leash

Olivia said...

I found both sites interesting. souls website is gorgeous and the tx. paranormal society's is informative. Hope it all works out between your groups.

Priscilla L. Roswell, NM said...

Olivia, I also went to both sites and found them both very nice. Souls is very easy access and has a lot of different things on there site that is easy to get to. They even have a Hauntings Book which was very interesting. The other Tx group's site was also very nice but I was wondering why you have to log in? Do you have something on their that you don't want the public to see or read? But again they are both interesting.

Keep up the work on Promoting your EVENTS!!! Can't wait for them both to happen...

Larry D.- Churchpoint, LA said...

the reason you have to log in,is usually so if you post something they don't like, they know who you are and can track your IP. I am not saying this is The Tx's groups reason for a log in, but in most cases this is the reason.

can someone explain to me about having to walk to the Neches ROOM to have lunch. What if it is raining. It tends to rain a lot in March here. If I want a vip ticket then I don't want to have to leave and go to another building down the street. Can there be another option for vip ticketholders?

Jodi-S.O.U.L.S. said...

Tammi and I have been working extremely hard on all aspects of our conference. As I stated previously, I will not answer to any bashing from anyone. The work that my team has done should speak for itself. We have accomplished so much and we plan on bringing many other projects and events to Beaumont. I can say that tourism brought to Beaumont, Texas is always a positive agenda! We hope what we are doing as well as other groups will achieve this goal. Our event will be the first of it's kind, so we do expect there will be people that are for it and against it. Being first is not always the easiest. We absorb all of the critisms and have to move forward in a positive manner. Both S.O.U.L.S. Fest and The Texas Ghost Show Conventions will bring a true awakening to Beaumont. I just hope everyone can be positive and supportive of each other. Support your local Ghost Hunters and be mindful of your remarks. I hope that you enjoy each event, and will look forward to many more! Thank You and Take Care.

P.S.-Tammi thanks for all that you do!

Anonymous said...

that is well said from both groups. At least they have leaders that are professional.

Anonymous said...

souls, you are having a lot of things planned for the vip tickets. what sort of food will you be offering for the catered lunch?

Jodi-S.O.U.L.S. said...

We are working with a local caterer on that very subject. We haven't decided on what we will be serving our VIP ticket holders. We hope to incorporate a down home southern meal with a little bit of the cajun influence. We don't want to do anything similar to what we will have the night before at Poblano Grill. So we are wanting to come up with something a little different. We will let everyone know as soon as a decision has been made. We will consider what the Speakers like too! Thanks for the question.

I can't wait for the chance to see ghost hunters. Does any of your groups need help with your conventions?

Stacy said...

Don Dennis has put many long hours, into TSPI. People dont seem to understand how much work it takes, to be a Founder of these groups. TSPI's Convention will be awesome..

Don Dennis said...

Adam...any help would be a greatly appreciated. let me know how to contact you and I will discuss how you could help at length.

Adam in Lumberton said...

you can email me at adamhoke45@yahoo.com and I am very interested thanks!

Martha Redlands, CA said...

Stacy, Yes I know how much time and energy goes into founding a group and keep it going. I am actually the founder of a group in Redland, Ca and it is beneficial to have a Co-Founder. This always helps the founder out with organizing, planning etc. Members are also great to have to help with investigations and evidence review. When you are part of a team you become more like a family.

there is so mcuh hostility on this page. i was searching for the convention i saw on a local ad here in Shreveport and this site came up. I attended the laspirits convention and I remember seeing the texas group's booth. you guys had a nice display! my hubby and I follow the paranormal track but we are not in a group. You all have to put up with a lot, that is very clear on this page. I am attending the convention in October and I hope it is better that the last one we attended, it was in Kentucky. Oops did i say that, lol. I hope to be around still to make it to the March convention too. the best of luck to you both

Just Wondering said...

Hey I was looking at the convention that will have the sky watching and I wanted to ask you where will be going? Will weget special glasses to watch the sky?

Don Dennis said...

The "Sky Watching" event will be at a different location because of the need for low light. Mr Grimsley will provide the equipment to view what he claims is the "war in the sky's". You can find more information on Mr Grimsley at his website https://www.ufowars.com

Just Wondering said...

Thanks, I can't wait! It sounds so exciting! I have always wondered whats out there

I here that we have 2 more paranormal groups formed in the area. I think its great that paranormal is growing so much. with all these diffrent groups and ideals we can only benifit from it. like the a new age coming for ghost hunters.sorry that one group had to loose some of its members.

Sometimes a group has to get rid of dead weight. Could it be that you are one of those that got kicked out?

Anonymous said...

who got kicked out?

Anonymous said...

awww, more people will soon leave you!

Ron said...

Leigh, or is it Rosa? If you were so set on leaving Don's group, then why are you set on trashing it? Drop the kiddie trash talk and move on. You only look like an idiot when you try and bash him, for kicking you out. Dont be made because he beat you to the punch.

Brenda Biggins said...

I love the way that everybody thinks that this Don guy is so bad. If he was so bad then whey has his group been around for so long? Maybe because he gets rid of the people in his group that ARE dead weight. I looked at both of the groups he has and there seem to be over 50 people that like him. Counting the "names on here it seems that there are just a few that are posting and most of those are using anonymous for their comments. If you cant tell him to his face, why waste you time by being so immature as to post his groups business in an open blog? If you want him to fail, your only hurting your cause because you are driving people to his sites to find out more about him. I dont see what the fascination is with trashing him. Is it because you are jealous of the attention he gets? Then go start your own group...and leave him and his groups alone.

NewTeamsRForming said...

we all know "brenda" is Mike posting from TSPI....he can't spell, LOL!

Brenda Biggins said...

No that is my real name...I can spell just fine, but sometimes I get to typing too fast and my wording may be a little off. At least Im not posting under a "fake name", like most of these people that are bashing Mr. Dennis' group. If you put as much effort into forming a group as you do trying to trash his group, you'd be amazed how much you can accomplish.

David Marcus said...

I wonder what these people would complain about if he didn't have a group? It seems as if you just enjoy this. Why don't you grow up and leave this guy alone for Christ's sake.

Gary said...

Is it any wonder why there hasn't been any paranormal conventions in Beaumont? With all this complaining about everyone's groups its a wonder why anyone would want to do anything for you people. Hats off to those that are putting these conventions on. The children that are complaining aren't the ones that want to see these things succeed, they just like the confrontation and they are making themselves look like the morons that they are. With the things that you folks are posting here, do you really think anyone would want to be a part of your "new" group?
