If I remember correctly, "I'm Home" was the title of my first blog post after Hurricane Rita. We're all fine. All of our houses are fine (including family in Port Arthur). Things didn't go so well for my beautiful Crystal Beach or the lovely Galveston or the delightful Orange, Texas and Bridge City, Texas. My mom had more back surgery four days after the storm and she's doing great, too. We're truly blessed. I'm on my way to meet a friend for my first after hurricane cocktail. More later.

Yay, you are home! Glad everything is okay with all your houses.
Wow, your mom had to have more surgery, hopefully somewhere with power. Its fantastic that she is doing great now.
The pictures of Crystal Beach, Galveston, Orange and Bridge City, Texas are so horrible.
thank goodness. I've been checking everyday whether or not you've had your first post-Ike cocktail.
We assume you had one or two cocktails during the hurricane.
Hurray! Glad you're all safe. Healing thoughts to your mom.
And yes, so sad about Galveston, Bolivar, and all the other places destroyed by Ike. :-(
Susan - So, sad. I can't hardly stand it.
Lorna - It was fabulous and it was just a beer, but really good company.
Larry - Nope. I can only drink when I'm happy. I'm weird.
Just - I will tell mom you send healing thoughts. So sad about your in-laws. My drinking buddy last night filled me in on their saga. Your mother-in-law is truly one of a kind.
Iwas very concerned about you when I read in the news that Beaumont (Beaufort?) TX was being played around with, so this comment is also a sigh of relief. I'm looking forward to more.
Glad to hear about your Mom.
Glad you are back and unharmed. I've been checking every day hoping for some more info from the area since I am a former Orange resident and have many friends still there. Used to spend a lot of time at Crystal Beach. So sad.
I'm happy to see you here again. Ike's storms meandered over to Central Illinois last Sunday. It was eery to sit at home with rain and wind coming "gently" through my home and know it was the aftermath of so much destruction. I thought of you all day.
Old Horsetail, Sandy and Lori - Thanks guys. I was thinking about all of you, too.
