The carton of eggs must be balanced--in the center and at each end. If there are 8 eggs left, 4 go in the middle, and 2 at each end. 6 eggs: 2 at each end, and 2 in the middle, but those 2 must be caddy-corner from each other.
All of this so that when I grab the carton by the middle, there will never be a teeter-totter effect causing one end to drop, thus breaking all of the eggs.

Hee hee. Me, too.
I'll admit something here, instead of there:

As if that's ever happened.
I used to be OK with eggs, but since reading gnightgirl's comment, I keep having to run to the fridge to check on the safety of my eggs
Leslie - Scary, right?
Gnight Girl and Lorna - Now, I have the egg thing, too!
