The Creeps

Before I went to bed early to lose weight (see previous post), I discovered that TVLand was having a Bob Newhart Show marathon (not the Vermont Bob Newhart, the Chicago psychologist Bob Newhart). So, instead of going to bed at 10:00 p.m. I went to bed at midnight. Then, the nightmares started. It was like I was in one of those Dawn of the Dead movies and I knew I was in a movie but everything they were doing to me still hurt and I was still terrified. Then, I woke up because I was screaming. Yes. Literally. Screaming. Although I was awake (sort of), I was still afraid and thought I could hear people downstairs but I was suddenly afraid of the dark and my stairs looked pitch black and I thought I could still hear things downstairs. I went back to bed and tried to go back to sleep, but Midnight Train to Georgia kept going through my head. When I finally did go back to sleep, I dreamed my parents were at my house and dad kept letting people, mostly trick-or-treaters, into my house without looking first to be sure who was at the door before opening it. The trick-or-treaters were parents with children who would come into my house and go through my things and they were mean and I would have to kick them out while my mom and I kept screaming at my dad.

I hate my allergy medicine.

  1. That's enough to ruin your day! I hope you have more and better sleep tonight.

  2. I have some muscle relaxers that can really freak me out. You know the dream that someone is on your bed. Standing right over you. I thought mom was in my room Friday night and actually sat up, turned the lamp on and said,"WHAT?!!!" That was nothing like the night 3 people in dark robes were at the foot of my bed.

    Man. We've got a wierd ass family...LOL

    Baby sis

  3. Change your allergy med. Tell your doctor there are at least a dozen on the market and you want something else. Now.

How scary! I hate those nightmares that you can't shake and you're afraid to even move. Mine ususally involve hundreds of rooftop snipers and I have to get a pack of kids across town in a bus that usually has some sort of mechanical breakdown. Arrggh!

  4. Ugghhh, I hate nightmares like that! Hope sleep is easier tonight.

Put a pic of Justin Timberlake by your bed to comfort you in case the creepies come back tonight. :)

  5. Laura - Thanks God this day is over. I'm pooped.

    Baby Sis - Holy Crapinelly!

LaSirena - It's the "D" in my Claritin-D. All of the "D"s do that to me but, without the "D," I am very "c."

Jen - I like the way you think.

  8. WHen we stayed at the St.Pierre the very first time in New Orleans I had a freaky dream that I was running through the woods and a civil war soldier was chasing me, just as he kneeled down to shoot at me I started screaming but I felt like I couldn't wake up. I finally sat straight up in the bed and screamed. I HAVE NEVER DONE THAT BEFORE OR SINCE.

    I don't like that hotel.
Now we stay at the BOURBON ORLEANS, no soldiers there.

  9. Zina - Wow! I can't remember if you ever told me that or not. We stayed at the St. Pierre once too. It was the best of trips...it was the worst of trips.
