Rest in Peace

It's been a greedy week for the grim reaper:
  • Another serious earthquake
  • Johnny Cochran
  • Terry Schiavo
  • My friend Kelly's grandmother
  • The Pope
  • Mitch Hedberg (The link is to one of my posts from a couple of weeks ago titled Part 1 because he was so witty and so fascinating, I knew there would be more. So sad.)

May they all rest in peace.

    And my old employee Tin Nguyen. He was killed yesterday by a drunk driver.

    Odd that George Stephanapoulos didn't include Mitch Hedberg in his In Memoriam segment on "This Week". I love Hedberg. My favorite MH line is: "I'm tired of following my dreams. I'm just gonna ask 'em where they're going and hook up with 'em later."

    I met Johnny Cochran once, and one of my lawyers was his Atlanta partner until he got sick. I can't say any more about that. ;)

    Sophmom - My nephews are so sad about Mitch Hedberg that it makes it even more upsetting. Interesting about the Johnny Cochran connection.

    I can talk about meeting him. He sat in front of me during a very, very long post season baseball game, a few years ago. The game was interrupted by more rain delays than I can remember. JC hung in there until sometime around 2:00AM. When he left, he gave me his stadium-bought raincoat. It fit.
