I can't bear to post "after" pictures of Crystal Beach Texas and Bolivar Peninsula showing Hurricane Ike's heavy hand. Here's a slideshow of pics I took while driving around Crystal Beach in April 2007. Crystal Beach will be back. Definitely.
Lovely slide show---I'm never able to look at the "destruction" photos, but if I'd seen the destruction firsthand, this would be a good way to recover.
I'm so sorry, Laurie, for your losses. I'm glad your homes are okay. Ike was a very unusual storm: Cat 2 wind w/ Cat 4 (5?) surge. My sis in Houston still has no power.
