I am not a Nagin fan, but I don't know much about Mitch Landrieu (sp?) either. So. (shrugs) I do think that Nagin is a business man that can, at times, get things done. But the K word was more than he could handle, I think. All the blame cannot be placed on the Captain of Chocolate City, though. Blanco and FEMA had their hand in the chaos as well.

I also think it was pretty presumptuous of him (Nagin) to put Baton Rouge's River Center as the main evacuation shelter on his "new and improved evacuation plan" without first consulting the City-Parish of East Baton Rouge. I'm sure we would accomodate any NOLA evacuees again, but dang. We haven't even repaired the million-plus dollars damage from the K evacuees at the River Center.Mommyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12111036439004167503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8604246.post-1148318836619696282006-05-22T12:27:00.000-05:002006-05-22T12:27:00.000-05:00Laurie, your billboard is funny. Nagin said the wrong thing from time to time, and apparently intends to continue with that, given his "red light district" remarks in his acceptance speech, but I agree with Tim that he wasn't a bad mayor. Honestly, I like the fact that he says what's on his mind, but what do I know? Cynthia McKinney is my congresswoman! :DAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8604246.post-1148312757073088392006-05-22T10:45:00.000-05:002006-05-22T10:45:00.000-05:00In a suburb of Atlanta, on a busy - but not that b...In a suburb of Atlanta, on a busy - but not that busy - road, there was a re-elect Nagin billboard. Preproduction begins in early June. Principal photography will begin July 5 and end Aug. 8. Postproduction will begin by Aug. 20. "We hope to have something done by the end of the year," Moses said regarding a first cut of the film.

"About 60 percent of our location are confirmed," Moses said. The good news is that he's not a crook like so many of our past and present well-spoken politicians here. Edwin Edwards is still in jail and he always said the right thing at the right time. (And he's in Texas, now that I think about it!) So I guess it's another "Count your blessings" point of view for me.

Peace,

Tim

P.S.
I love chocolate--I'm drinking chocolate milk right now and looking forward to New Orleans being all chocolate like Nagin promised!
